I am a recent Dartmouth College graduate and am working as a studio art departmental intern, artist and instructor from 2018-2019 in Hanover, New Hampshire.
My work as an artist centers the femme experience through portraiture that explores themes of trauma, memory and personal experiences informed by cultural identities. I utilize writing, sound, video, analog, and digital photography as well as various forms of storytelling to create a complete sensory experience. The intimate is rendered public – here, viewer interaction collides with impervious familial moments. Images and sounds of home saturate my work as a way to connect and archive generations of language and knowledge. My intent is to reveal the paradox of the simultaneous invisibility and hyper-visibility of my communities and capture them in ways that present the multidimensionality they embody.
